This bull snake is another seldom seen species for me, I think this was my third one ever. Yes, yes I was laying down on the boardwalk to get a low enough angle to capture this guy. We don't see a lot of snakes in general in Yellowstone and for that matter reptiles. ⁠

I think people may find it a little strange that I get so excited over such obscure things. Yet when you get to spend so much time in an area and see new things it makes it special. ⁠

This photo was taken on one of the tours I was able to be on. This white-tailed jackrabbit was one of the highlights for me on this particular day. Although we did see wolves and bears this is a species I see far less often and maybe even once every year or two. ⁠

Sometimes while watching wolves and bears we may look over some of the littler things around us. Or in some cases the bigger things like sandhill cranes. I dont know how many time I have been looking for a wolf or a bear and I come across a pair of sandhill cranes, they can really stick out even from miles away.⁠

We have been extremely lucky the last several years to be able to witness wolf puppies in the wild. This particular den has been out in the open just over a mile away which is the perfect distance for viewing through a spotting scope. ⁠
