About Our Island Park Tour

 

Island Park Idaho lies with-in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and offers endless scenic vistas and the same diversity of wildlife that lies within Yellowstone National Park. Island Park offers great birding, scenic drives, and endless photo opportunities. If you want to spend some time outside exploring new areas an Island Park trip may be right for you.

Birding Island Park

As a birder there are some key species worth looking for in East Idaho, with our Sage Steppe, Boreal Forests, and the ecotones that are created in these areas a great variety of birds can be found. Birds of interests in these areas are not limited to Great Gray Owl, Greater Sage-grouse, Gray Partridge, Black-backed Woodpecker, Red-necked Grebe, Short-eared Owl, Long-eared Owl.

Photographing Island Park

Island Park provides some great opportunities to photograph wildlife and landscapes that may not be as accessible in Yellowstone. With an array of rivers come waterfalls, moose, waterfowl, and a variety of other opportunities. Waterfalls like Upper and Lower Mesa Falls, Cave Falls, and Sheep falls all make stunning landscapes. Idaho has one of the largest moose populations in the lower 48 and one of the largest wintering herds. Bird photography (including many owl species) is exceptional within just an hours drive many different habitats can be explored. Please contact us directly for opportunities.

Island Park Tours


Just looking to get out and relax for a day? Come and explore some of the 5 rivers (headwaters of 3), 4 waterfalls, mountain ranges, calderas, state parks, and other sites that the area around Island Park has to offer. Beyond the scenic destinations you will have the opportunity to look for many of the same wild animals that you may encounter in Yellowstone National Park.
